Действие повести происходит в Великобритании, трое героев (не считая собаки) плывут по реке Темза между Кингстоном и Оксфордом.

Наверняка, все смотрели замечательный фильм «Трое в лодке, не считая собаки», где играли прекрасные актеры Миронов, Ширвиндт и Державин. Фильм представляет собой редкий случай, когда для экранизации сценарий переработали сравнительно существенно, и от книги он отличается довольно существенно, но на качестве это не отразилось совсем.  Наоборот, удалось получить совершенно другое художественное произведение, которое не лучше и не хуже книги — оно просто другое.

Поэтому, если вы смотрели фильм, и не читали книгу, то стоит заполнить этот пробел в вашем общении с литературой. Не пожалеете, тем более, что книга очень сильно отличается от фильма, и так как там есть много того, что в фильм не вошло (в том числе и этот эпизод про морскую болезнь), то вы посмеётесь от души.
